Sunny areas and increasing cloud for most of the North Island today, winds will be breezy from the northeast. The odd light shower may affect eastern coastal areas north of Auckland especially from evening where patches of rain may even move in. Sunny with some cloud on the east coast, northeasterly breezes.

Brisk northeasterlies for the east of the South Island, it will be mostly sunny with some high cloud moving in during the afternoon. Cloudy in South Westland and Fiordland with showers from afternoon spreading north in the evening, sunny for most of the day in North Westland and Buller before late cloud and showers at night. Northeasterly winds for Southland with fine weather and high cloud, a few spots of rain at night. Northeasterly breezes in Nelson, sunny areas and some increasing cloud from evening.

16 to 17 degrees expected for most in the North Island today although temperatures in the mid teens for the east coast and about Wellington. Cool along the east coast of the South Island and about South Westland, around 12 to 13 degrees on average today. Mid teen temperatures for north Westland, Buller, Nelson and Southland.
