Monday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

High pressure will continue to drift away from the country today, setting the stage for the development of clouds and showers.

For the North Island, look for clouds and passing showers.  The western and southern coasts could see showers pop up at any time today.  The rest of the island, including Auckland, will have to wait until late afternoon before there is any real threat for showers.  Highs be in the lower 20’s.

For the South Island, most areas will start off the day dry.  Marlborough and Nelson will see chance for rain all day.  The rest of the island will see the chance for showers go up this afternoon and this evening.  Highs will be in the lower 20’s for most areas.  Mid to uppper teens are expected for Invercargill and Dunedin.

Perfect day so far for Invers – sunny, hardly a breeze and I have a reading of 20.7 right now.
