Upper North Island

Rain develops this morning, possibly heavy at times then clearing late afternoon or evening as northwesterly winds change southwest.

Lower North Island

Mostly cloudy with west to northwesterly winds, a few showers or perhaps some rain the further north one goes (Taranaki / Central North Island). Clearing away late afternoon or evening. The east coast has thick high cloud with scattered rain spreading at times from the west. Wellington is looking mainly dry, chance of a shower for a time late morning.

Upper South Island

Mostly cloudy with areas of rain in the west, mainly dry in the east although there may be a light shower or two then showers more likely in the afternoon before clearing overnight. Light winds.

Lower South Island

Mostly cloudy, chance of a light shower or two then showers more likely in the afternoon before clearing away overnight. Light winds.
