A low centred west of the North Island weakens today however it still brings unsettled weather to most of New Zealand.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Some cloud with the risk of a shower, chance of a heavy fall late afternoon / evening with thunderstorms then easing later on. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 19-20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Showers, perhaps some rain for a time this morning in the Manawatu. Showers clearing later this evening. Further west expect sunny spells and the odd shower, showers may become heavy with thunderstorms late afternoon / evening then easing later on. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-18

Eastern North Island
Rain, possibly heavy this morning then easing, breezy east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-16

Wellington
Morning rain eases then clears, mostly cloudy with easterly winds.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson
Rain for Marlborough with heavy falls possible, easing from afternoon. Showers for Nelson becoming patchy in the afternoon, some sun may even start to break through. East to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-18

Canterbury
Patchy rain or drizzle, easing later in the day. Easterly winds.
Highs: 12-14

West Coast
Mostly sunny about South Westland however about the mountains of Fiordland there may be isolated showers late afternoon / evening. North Westland sees some cloud at times, perhaps a shower or two also. Showers more likely in the afternoon especially about Buller with the chance of a heavy fall then easing later on.
Highs: 17-20

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny about Southland and Central Otago with light winds. Coastal Otago sees cloudy areas and the chance of a shower, winds fresh from the east.
Highs: 14-20
