A southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny spells and a few showers, especially from late morning. The Waikato and Bay Of Plenty sees longer dry areas. Breezy southwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy areas and the odd shower Wanganui southwards, more so in the afternoon as light winds tend westerly. Sunny spells elsewhere, still there risk of a shower or two, winds a little fresher from the southwest about Taranaki.
Highs: 10-14

Eastern North Island
Showers, some sun may break through from afternoon onwards. Showers clear later in the evening. Southwesterly winds ease.
High: 13-14

Wellington
Morning showers clear then sunny areas increase, southerlies die out this morning.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson
Any morning cloud clears then mainly sunny with light winds. A frosty start especially inland.
Highs: 13-14

Canterbury
A frosty start, especially inland then any morning cloud / fog breaks to mostly sunny weather, light winds.
Highs: 8-11

West Coast
A mainly sunny morning, cloud a little more frequent from afternoon bringing the chance of a shower Greymouth northwards. Light southwesterly winds. Rain moves into Fiordland overnight.
Highs: 10-13

Southland & Otago
A frosty start then any morning cloud / fog clears to mainly sunny weather, light northwesterly winds.
Highs: 6-10
