Upper North Island

Showers, possibly heavy then easing this afternoon as northerlies change westerly. Showers may not may into the Bay Of Plenty till afternoon however then easing there overnight.

Lower North Island

Showers in the west, some may become heavy this afternoon then easing this evening, winds from the easterly quarter. Sunny areas and some high cloud in the east, later this evening or overnight showers move in.

Upper South Island

Showers clearing this afternoon about Nelson and Marlborough, showers may hang about parts of Canterbury for much of the day. Winds from the south or southeast. Morning showers clear Buller then expect sunny areas and some high cloud, sunny further south along the West Coast with light winds.

Lower South Island

A mainly sunny day ahead after a frosty start, light winds.
