Upper North Island

Showers and sunny spells, showers may be heavy at times then easing this afternoon and clearing by evening as westerly winds change to the south.

Lower North Island

Showers and some sun at times in the west, showers clear by evening as south to southeasterly winds freshen. Showers about the Wairarapa from morning, some sun further north then showers move in during the afternoon with heavy falls and thunderstorms possible then easing later this evening.

Upper South Island

Mostly sunny along the West Coast, morning cloud breaks to sunny spells this afternoon elsewhere. Low risk of an isolated shower this afternoon for inland areas any of which clear in the evening.

Lower South Island

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, a few showers move into Southland this afternoon with a southwest change. The odd shower reaches Otago this evening.
