Eastern parts of the North Island from Wellington through to East Cape remaining dry today with sunny weather, winds will be light. Any morning showers about Auckland clearing then sunny periods with southwesterly breezes, a few isolated showers may develop in the afternoon however. In Northland expect cloudy and sunny areas, a few showers at times mainly in the morning with breezy southwesterlies.

Cloudy and sunny periods about Taranaki, the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Central North Island with light winds after any morning fog clears, a few showers develop in the afternoon mainly in the west clearing in the evening. Mainly dry with some cloud about the Kapiti Coast with north to northwesterly breezes, low risk of a late afternoon shower.

Temperatures in the mid teens along the east coast, also about the Bay of Plenty and north of Auckland. Perhaps a degree or two higher about Gisborne and parts of Northland. 13 to 14 can be expected in the west and about the Central North Island.

Mostly cloudy on the West Coast, in Buller and Tasman with light north to northwesterly winds, a few showers at times mainly north of the Glaciers. Some high cloud in Nelson and Marlborough with light winds, sunny periods increasing in the afternoon. In Canterbury and Otago expect some cloud with the chance of a few morning showers, sunny breaks develop by midday with light winds. In the afternoon there is the risk of an isolated shower mainly inland in Canterbury. Mostly sunny in Southland with light winds and some cloud.

High’s of 14 degrees on average for most, a degree or two cooler about Central Otago and parts of South Westland.

A nice sunny morning with a fair SW breeze was drying things up quite well, but along came two, so far, heavy showers and put everything back to square one..Am not a happy chappy about that but I suppose as rain is forecast in some form or other from now till whenever up this way I am lucky to have been able to enjoy what sunshine we are getting.
