A south to southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today. It’s generally settled, although there will be a few showers about. The best weather is mainly about the West Coast of the South Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Chance of a morning shower about Northland and Auckland then sunny spells develop. Mostly sunny about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty then some cloud builds a little this afternoon with the chance of an isolated shower. Southwesterly winds for most may tend northerly in the afternoon about the Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 17-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloud breaks to sunny areas this afternoon, mostly sunny about Taranaki from morning. Southerly winds.
Highs: 13-16

Eastern North Island

Mostly cloudy with south to southwesterly winds, chance of a light shower or two otherwise mainly dry.
High: 16

Wellington

Cloud breaks to sunny spells in the afternoon, southerly winds.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower possible, showers more likely about Nelson. Light winds tend east to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-15

Canterbury

Drizzle patches ease then becoming drier in the afternoon, light winds.
High: 13

West Coast

Mostly sunny with light winds. There may be a few showers about Buller especially afternoon / early evening.
Highs: 17-18

Southland & Otago

Mostly cloudy with a few sunny breaks late afternoon or evening, chance of a light shower or two otherwise mainly dry. Light winds.
Highs: 12-14
