A northeasterly airflow increases over New Zealand today while a low deepens in the Tasman Sea, for the most case it’s wet weather in the west and drier out east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Areas of rain or showers, easing this afternoon for most although about the Bay Of Plenty in the evening . East to northeasterly winds. Northland however sees morning sunny areas then becoming cloudy this afternoon, the odd light shower possible from evening then late rain moves in from the north. Northerlies increase.
Highs: 16-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloud thickening from this morning, the odd spot of rain possible from this afternoon. Taranaki and the Central North Island sees areas of rain gradually moving in this morning becoming a little more persistent after midday. East to northeasterly winds gusty at times about Taranaki.
Highs: 13-17

Eastern North Island

Areas of high cloud with increasing northeasterly winds, a few spots of rain possible this evening.
Highs: 16-17

Wellington

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, northerly winds. A few showers move in this evening.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny with increasing high cloud for Marlborough, becoming cloudy this morning for Nelson. A few spots / areas of rain spread from the west at times afternoon onwards. Northeasterlies increase from midday.
Highs: 15-16

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with some high cloud increasing this afternoon, northeasterly winds.
High: 17

West Coast

Spells of rain or showers with northeasterly winds.
Highs: 14-15

Southland & Otago

Mostly sunny with high cloud thickening from afternoon, northeasterly winds. This evening spells of rain move in.
Highs: 11-14
