A westerly airflow lies over the North Island today, periods of cloud in the west with the odd light shower about mainly this morning. Sunny out east however there is the risk of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening. Mostly sunny over the South Island however isolated showers late afternoon / evening about some parts of Southland and Otago.

Auckland & Northland
Some morning cloud with the chance of a shower then there could be a few PM sunny spells, westerlies.
Highs: 21-22

Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny weather with light winds tending northerly in the afternoon.
Chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening mainly inland.
High: 22

Waikato & Central North Island

Any morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, light westerly winds.
Chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening mainly to the
northeast.
Highs: 22-23

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds tending northeasterly, there could be a few
isolated showers late afternoon / evening especially inland then clearing
later.
High: 23

Western North Island

Increasing cloudy periods, chance of a light drizzle patch about Taranaki
from late morning and further south in the evening. West to northwesterly winds
build.
Highs: 18-21

Wellington

Sunny areas and increasing cloud, becoming mostly cloudy by midday. with
breezy northerly winds. A few light drizzle patches in the evening.
High: 18

Nelson

Mostly sunny with northerly winds, cloud thickens later in the
evening.
High: 22

Marlborough

Mostly sunny with north to northwesterly winds, high cloud thickens
overnight.
Highs: 24-25

Canterbury

Sunny after any morning cloud clears, light winds freshen from the east in
the afternoon. High cloud thickens overnight.
Highs: 22-23

West Coast

Sunny areas and some cloud with light north to northwesterly winds, cloud
thickens later in the evening.
Highs: 17-19

Coastal Otago

Mostly sunny in the morning with light winds, isolated showers develop in
the afternoon possibly heavy especially inland. Showers then clear later in the
evening.
Highs: 18-20

Central Otago

Mostly sunny in the morning with light winds, isolated showers develop in
the afternoon possibly heavy especially inland.
High: 22

Southland

Sunny areas and some cloud with light northwesterlies, a few isolated
showers possible late afternoon more so inland then clearing in the evening.
Winds tend southwest in the afternoon.
High: 17-19
