Monday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

It’s been relatively dry over the weekend with either sunshine or cloudy areas and today it’s looking reasonably good again however any showers are set for the far south west corner of the country or some cloud and a drizzly shower could cross the coasts of western areas of the North Island

Today appears to be the most settled nationally compared to the next two or three days as an incoming frontal system is set to make its presence from tonight in the deep south and on Tuesday and Wednesday, mainly in eastern districts.

Temperatures are near average again today if not a little higher in sheltered areas as the mid Autumn sunshine holds its grip in many areas.

Many western and northern parts of the country are looking mainly dry and settled for the second week of the schoool holidays with pleasant daytime temperatures and coolish nights.

Winds are likely to be mostly gentle about the country however as the southerly winds up tonight in the far south it’ll pack a bit of a punch.
