The subtropical low threatened and delivered some rain across northern regions but in many cases it was fairly weak and inconsequential.
It’s not all over yet and fits and starts are likely tonight and overnight plus during Tuesday as the system heads south.
Southern parts of Southland also didn’t quite get a drenching and a rain warning was lifted earlier today for parts of the area.
Temperatures were warm across the south with Ashburton on 26 degrees, Timaru 25 and Christchurch 24.

Auckland gets its most continuous rain from southerly flows in a close proximity (wrap a round) depression under cold surface air.
