A cold front moved up NZ on Sunday and now the next cold front is, well, ‘hot’ on its heels. Temperatures today will rebound a little but it may be cloudy/gloomy for many places still, especially to begin with.
The map below shows pale blue shading over the North Island today, much of that will be drizzly showers that fall before dawn. Most places should become dry today.
But Southland will tonight see the next cold front coming in. Invercargill should get up to 17 or 18 today, but the high tomorrow is only around 11 degrees. Dunedin is around 17 today, then a high of 12 on Tuesday. Christchurch will be sunny this afternoon with a high into the low 20s, but only 14 on Tuesday as the cold front moves through with some wet weather.
