Temperatures are refusing to fall too much tonight as clouds build in the South Island and mild air remains over the North Island.
As of 9:30pm it was 16 degrees in Tauranga with 15 degrees in parts of Northland. Auckland had 13 along with Whakatane, Rotorua, Hastings and Palmerston North.
In the South Island most main centres remain in double digits ahead of an incoming front from the west. Dunedin and Timaru are the coldest centres on 7 this hour
Friday will see another mild day across New Zealand as a weak front moves up the country fuelled by a developing low pressure in the Tasman Sea.
