Oh the weather outside is…not too bad actually! Christmas Day is here and as kids rush to open presents and adults look forward to a festive drink and Christmas meal the weather should play its part today.
As we’ve been saying all week, the forecast looks generally settled, just a few cloudy areas and the odd isolated shower. Otherwise the day will be mostly dry, mostly calm, and temperatures should be about average.
Hottest places will be inland, such as Otago. Coolest will be some coastal areas with cloudy spells and, in the north, a breezy easterly.
Charity
WeatherWatch.co.nz yesterday donated $1000 to a charity which was decided by you. We gave two options – the Red Cross Earthquake appeal and KidsCan and aske you to vote.
Overwhelmingly KidsCan was the charity of choice, with 78% of the vote. This was probably because many people have already donated to the Red Cross this year.
We encourage you to also make a donation – both charities are worthy causes, and you can find more information on what each charity stands for and how you can make a donation yourself by clicking here.
