Make the most of Saturday’s weather…

> From the WeatherWatch archives

If you’re wanting to get to the beach, the garden or just get the laundry done, today is by far the better choice for most places as a front with sub-tropical connections looms.

A north to north east flow will spread across many places today ahead of the front, meaning most main centres will be in the low 20s today temperature-wise.

As for rain, just some drizzle patches are expected around the Top Half of the North Island, especially later today and this evening. The day will otherwise be mostly dry.

Winds will pick up in Wellington while in Christchurch the north east tilt means it shouldn’t be a scorcher.

The warm day will give way to a mild and humid night for many with temperatures in the upper North Island and other coastal areas not dipping below the mid teens tonight.

Tomorrow’s weather will see rain pushing in across western and northern New Zealand but only a few spits making it further south east – but Monday may be wetter for those regions.
