A copper-tinged moon was overhead during the early hours of this morning for a rare lunar eclipse around New Zealand.
The hour-long total blocking of the view of the moon began around 3am and was witnessed by a few and we’d love to see photos from anyone who managed a glimpse.
Please feel free to upload the pictures and then everyone can get a good look especially for those who were in cloud covered regions.
Cloud did cover quite a bit of the country overnight however the far south and inland areas seemed to have the clearest skies.
