Low and front combination on Wednesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A combination of two weather systems is set to bring rain, wind and cloud to parts of both islands on Wednesday, as we see a return to slightly warmer conditions around New Zealand.

A low and a front combine over the Upper North Island early on Wednesday, before slowly moving eastwards through the day, bringing potentially heavy rain to Northland, Auckland, Waikato and the Bay of Plenty at various times.

A northwesterly airflow remains in place over most of the South Island, with rain on the way for many western regions – and Marlborough – while the east should stay mostly dry.
