Looking ahead

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Several unsettled days are on the way for this upcoming week.

Strong low pressure over the Tasman Sea will keep wind and rain over New Zealand for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Even Thursday could be a bit rainy in some areas.

Today and tomorrow, heavy falls are possible for the western sections of the South Island.  Heavy falls are also possible for Taranaki, Wanganui, Bay of Plenty and eastern Waikato for Monday and Tuesday.

As we get into Wednesday and Thursday, the threat for heavy rain and severe weather will diminish.  However precipitation is still expected.

By Friday, a ridge of high pressure should slide across the Tasman Sea and bring us some settled weather for at least the first part of next weekend.
