Lingering showers, a few snow flurries – The Big Picture on Thursday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Some early rain about the lower North Island and East Coast eases to showers, while winds gust from the south – strongly in bursts at times.

Showers linger for the rest of the North Island, before clearing by evening, while winds blow from the south or southwest, and the sun peeks out from behind the clouds at times.

For the South Island, the West Coast is mainly sunny with southeasterlies, while over in Canterbury and Marlborough, cloudy skies dominate, with some drizzle or a few showers clearing in the afternoon and into evening.
There’s a chance of a few snow flurries down to around 500m in Canterbury, however it’ll only be light flurries if anything.
Otago and Southland see morning cloud break to mostly sunny weather, while southwest winds ease.
