Late spring frost – #WeatherRisks on Thursday & your Main Centre forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Current temperature maps show inland parts of the South Island to be around frost levels – as we picked the chance of a light frost to start in the morning.

Temperatures currently sit below 0 in some inland, sheltered parts of the South Island – Queenstown and Alexandra among them.
The risk of frosts isn’t high or severe, however – and by the time most will be reading this, it should have mostly dissipated.

Main Centres

Auckland

Looking mostly sunny, with south to southeasterly breezes, and a high in the late teens.

Wellington

Cooler in the capital, after morning cloud breaks to leave mostly sunny but cool weather – highs in the early teens only, as breezy southwesterlies blow too.

Christchurch

Looking sunny here too, with light winds in the morning, and afternoon east to northeast winds – with a high around the mid teens.
