Keep an eye out – #WeatherRisks on Friday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Friday is looking fairly settled around the country, though there are a few features that may emerge to keep an eye on for parts of both islands – wind and rain wise.

A front slides onto the upper South Island in the afternoon, before moving on to the lower North Island in the evening – bringing rain.
Rain may be heavy about Buller and the northwest Nelson area in the afternoon and into early evening.
When evening comes, rain moves into the Wellington and Kapiti areas, then northwards into Taranaki overnight.
This system could contain heavy falls – more so in the west.

Winds during the day will be breezy to brisk from the west-northwest over the North Island ahead of this front, but nothing to write home about!
