Snow would seem unlikely for Christchurch, slim to no chance but weather forecasters have been wrong before right? Logically looking at what information I have infront of me suggests no snow for Christchurch so that’s what I’ll say 🙂

Yeah whats up with that both weatherwatch and metservice said snow to no lower than 300m and it was unlikely to settle. well its snowing and settling down at the harewood road bridge just east of oxford about 200m and sleeting here at 170m. Is the snow level likely to drop overnight?

Once this system has blown over and you look at the snow line chances are the snow level will be a bit higher even though some flurries may have made it to lower levels. The weather doesn’t follow what computers or I say but we do the best with the information infront of us. I’m nearly at 400m above sea level in Mid Canterbury and I have no snow settleing at all, cold with rain though. That’s the weather for you.
Latest overnight forecast gives you what our current thoughts are, as always with the weather there are anomalies and it won’t follow any forecast exactly.

Just rain at the moment in Kainga but the temp has dipped to 5… sigh. Snow would be a nice change!

hey we are at the top of blue mountains hill, wellington about 300m above sea level, just wondering if this bad weather is going to come to wellington and if there is any chance of us getting snow.

G’day there
Snow doesn’t look likely for you. Tomorrow southerly winds will become strong in the morning however and may gust to gale force at times, winds ease later in the evening.
Cheers
