InfoGraphic – Your Weekend Outlook

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Saturday sees warm weather over the North Island coming to an end as a cold front moves in. While not everyone will feel the chill those in the east and south will notice it, especially by Sunday.

The main front crosses the North Island overnight tonight and across Saturday morning – then a southerly change moves northwards across Canterbury and into Wellington/Wairarapa, clearing the country over Sunday.

Saturday

Blue – A front brings a chance of heavy rain for some northeastern parts of the North Island, perhaps the chance of a thunderstorm about eastern Bay Of Plenty / East Cape then easing by afternoon.

Rain may be heavy about parts of the lower North Island during the afternoon then easing in the evening.

Purple – Southerlies becoming strong about the lower North Island in the afternoon, westerlies about some western coastal areas become gusty from afternoon then ease in the evening.

Northerlies about East Cape, strong at times ease in the afternoon.

Sunday

No highlights or weather of note, but it will be several degrees cooler in the east of the North Island.
