Spring Returns! (for a few days)

Saturday

Blue – Some heavy rain for the west of the country in the morning then easing although a heavy shower / thunderstorm is possible for the rest of the day on the West Coast of the South Island.

A southwest change about coastal Otago up to perhaps South Canterbury mid or late afternoon brings showers, some may be heavy with thunderstorms and hail.

Purple – Northwesterly winds gusty / strong about the inner South Island and through Cook Strait from midday.

Yellow – Temperatures getting into the mid to late 20’s for the east of New Zealand in the afternoon.

Sunday

Blue – From evening, rain heavy with thunderstorms and hail move into South Westland then pushing northwards overnight.

Later in the evening / overnight southerlies push into Southland and Otago, once again some could be heavy with thunderstorms and hail.

Purple – Gusty / strong southwesterlies about western coastal parts of the North Island ease from afternoon.
