A south to southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today bringing plenty of cloud. Southwesterlies continue on Wednesday with a weak low sitting near central New Zealand, anticyclonic conditions mostly on Thursday as a low builds in the Tasman Sea.

Tuesday

Yellow – Afternoon high’s reaching into the mid 20’s for the Bay Of Plenty..

A fairly cloudy day for the east of the South Island, there may be some morning sun Banks Peninsula northwards then cloud increases from afternoon. Areas of drizzle about too, showers for parts of North Westland / Buller.

Wednesday

Yellow – High’s reaching into the mid to late 20’s for a few eastern parts of New Zealand during the afternoon.

Blue – A cold start for the lower South Island, temperatures around dawn on Wednesday looking to start in the early single figure range.

Thursday

Yellow – Afternoon high’s just reaching into the mid 20’s for some inland parts of the upper North Island.

Blue – Another cold start about the far south inland in the early single figure range.
