A front slowly passes from west to east over New Zealand during today meanwhile a low follows in behind. This low moves over the North Island on Friday while a ridge sits over the South Island then on Saturday a northwest airflow develops in the far south.
Thursday
Blue – As a front moves over New Zealand from the west there may be some heavy rain about Tasman this morning. Chance of a few heavy showers in other areas also then overnight a trough passing over Auckland and Northland brings heavy showers with a risk of thunderstorms and hail.
There may be some heavy rain move into the Wairarapa overnight for a time, easing by dawn on Friday.
Friday
Blue – Morning heavy showers about Northland and Auckland with possible thunderstorms and hail ease. A chance of some heavy rain in the morning about coastal North Canterbury then easing by midday.
Showers may become heavy in the afternoon about the Central North Island then easing evening.
Watch for a spot of fog or low cloud about inland parts of the North Island in the morning, also the lower South Island.
Saturday
Not many news worthy events looking to occur on Saturday, it should be a warm day in the east though with afternoon high’s in the high teens or possibly even the low 20’s for the South Island’s east coast.
