A ridge lies over New Zealand today spreading out from a large anticyclone in the Tasman Sea bringing a mainly settled day. Anticyclonic conditions stick around on Tuesday and Wednesday although conditions may become unstable for parts of the upper North Island during the afternoon’s.
Monday
Not alot of note worthy weather for New Zealand today. There may be an isolated shower late afternoon / evening for the upper North Island. A fairly cloudy day in the east with the odd shower or drizzle patch. The South Island has its sunniest weather in the southwest of the island.
Tuesday
Blue – Late afternoon / evening showers about the upper North Island may become heavy with thunderstorms then clearing later on.
Yellow – Temperatures reaching into the low to mid 20’s for the far south in the afternoon.
Wednesday
Another day of potentially unstable conditions for the upper North Island late afternoon / evening with a risk of heavy falls and thunderstorms. There may be an isolated shower around the same time for the interior of the South Island however the thunderstorms risk is nil currently.
