A ridge lies over the North Island today, northwesterlies over the South Island with a front over the lower south. Weak high pressure for much of Saturday. A west to northwesterly airflow for most of New Zealand on Sunday, becoming humid in the north especially later on.
Friday
Blue – Showers about South Westland may be heavy for a time this morning then easing from afternoon.
Saturday
Yellow – High’s in the mid to late 20’s for the east of the South Island, mid 20’s for inland parts of the upper North Island.
Sunday
Purple – Brisk to strong northwesterly winds through Cook Strait.
Yellow – High’s in the late 20’s or perhaps even early 30’s for the east of the country on Sunday. High’s in the mid 20’s for parts of the upper North Island.
