A southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today while an anticyclone is centred in the Tasman Sea. A frontal feature moves out of the Tasman Sea on Thursday pushing over the North Island afternoon / evening, a ridge lies over the South Island. An anticyclone lies over the country on Friday.
Wednesday
Purple – Gusty west to southwesterly winds about coastal parts of the lower South Island eases from afternoon.
Yellow – Temperatures about inland Bay Of Plenty getting into the mid 20’s today.
Thursday
No big issues of note, there is a chance of some instability crossing the eastern North Island and Northland late afternoon / evening. At this stage rain or showers look to be fairly brief.
Friday
Calm conditions due to an anticyclone.
