A front moves northwards over the South Island during today while a westerly airflow lies over the north. This front moves over the North Island on Wednesday however it does weaken and slows down as the day goes on, weak low pressure for the South Island. Weak high pressure for much of the country on Thursday.
Tuesday
Blue – As a front moves northwards along the West Coast of the South Island rain may be heavy at times then easing in the evening.
Purple – Gusty / strong west to northwesterly winds can be expected in the areas marked below, easing for most in the evening although not about Cook Strait till overnight.
Wednesday
Blue – As the front moves over the North Island some rain in the west may be heavy for a time then easing in the evening.
Thursday
Blue – Not alot going on although some instability about the Bay Of Plenty late afternoon / evening may deliver a heavy isolated shower or two.
