A south to southwesterly airflow gradually eases today while a front moves onto the lower South Island this evening. A westerly quarter airflow continues on Saturday with a weakening front moving off the South Island and onto the North Island during the day. A west to southwesterly airflow for most on Sunday.
Friday
Blue – Chance of a light frost to start the day about the lower South Island.
Purple – Strong south to southwesterly winds gusting to gale in the east easing by midday.
Saturday
Purple – Westerlies about some coastal parts of the lower North Island in the west a little brisk at times, westerlies about the lower South Island strong from afternoon.
Yellow – While not a risk as such these parts of the country are expecting mainly sunny conditions with temperatures reaching into the mid 20’s! A nice change from the weather recently.
Sunday
Purple – Gusty southwesterly winds about the lower South Island ease later in the day.
