Today a low moves towards the upper North Island from the Tasman Sea, while the rest of the country sees a southerly airflow tending easterly about the lower South Island. Southerlies continue for most on Wednesday although winds tend more southeast about the upper North Island as a low moves eastwards. Southerlies cover much of the country on Thursday.
Tuesday
Blue – Rain affects Northland and Auckland from late afternoon, with the chance of a few heavy falls which ease later in the evening / overnight. Rain overnight about the Bay Of Plenty has a greater chance of heavy falls.
Purple – Southeasterly winds become gusty overnight about the Coromandel, especially in the east.
Wednesday
Blue – Early heavy rain eases about the Bay Of Plenty. Rain about Gisborne / East Cape may be heavy at times for much of the day.
Purple – Southeasterly winds about the Coromandel may be gusty / strong during the day then easing in the evening.
Thursday
No weather of interest to note down, fairly cloudy in the east and sunnier conditions in the west.
