A mix of sun and cloud about the lower North Island in the west, Taranaki sees cloudier skies from morning then the odd light shower from afternoon. Northerly winds.
A mainly sunny day along the east coast after any morning cloud breaks away, light northerlies. Increasing cloudy areas from morning about Wellington, chance spit or two from late afternoon. Breezy northerly winds.
A mainly sunny morning about Nelson / Marlborough then cloud increases from afternoon bringing in the chance of a few spots of rain. North to northwesterly winds pick up after midday. Mainly sunny for Canterbury with a touch of high cloud, light winds.
Mostly cloudy along the West Coast with a few patchy showers, parts of North Westland may remain fairly dry eveng with a chance of sun now and then. Sunny areas and increasing high cloud for Southland and Otago, some scattered rain overnight (mainly about Southland). Light northerlies.
Blue – Heavy form of precipitation or cold temperatures, typically below 1 to 2 degrees celsius.
White – Snow
Purple – Strong winds.
Yellow – Temperatures around the mid 20 degree mark or over.

Broken cloud, mostly sunny – wind is a gusty breeze. All in all, so far it has been a lovely day in Hawera :).
