InfoGraphic: The Big Picture on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A brisk to strong northwesterly airflow lies across New Zealand on Tuesday while a front lies across the lower South Island, part of it branching northwards in the evening especially for the South Island’s West Coast.

For the western North Island expect a mix of sun and cloud with westerly winds, cloud more persistent about the Waikato southwards. The east coast sees mostly sunny weather and increasing high cloud, gusty northwesterlies about the Wairarapa however Hawkes Bay may see afternoon easterlies about the coast.

Mostly cloudy about Wellington with brisk to strong northwesterly winds.

The South Island sees thick high cloud in the east, gusty northwesterly winds strong at times inland. Rain for South Westland spreads northwards in the evening with heavy falls. Rain about Southland and perhaps parts of Otago at times (mainly in the south), rain may be persistent across the day rather then heavy at any particular one time.

A warm day for eastern parts of New Zealand is on the cards.

Not all regions and towns have been mentioned above. For specific 10 day information for your city, town, rural community or island please see the 1500 forecasts on our homepage!
