A cold southwesterly airflow continues to blow over New Zealand on Tuesday.
Mostly cloudy with a few showers about the upper North Island, especially in the west. Drier conditions further east, about the Bay Of Plenty for example. West to southwesterly winds.
Some morning sun possible otherwise expect mostly cloudy skies with a shower or two during the day about the lower western North Island. Breezy westerly winds, brisk about Taranaki. Mainly sunny along the east coast with westerly winds, some cloud possible from afternoon especially about the Wairarapa.
Some cloud for Wellington, chance of a shower in the afternoon then northwesterly winds change southerly in the evening.
Mostly sunny about Nelson and Marlborough, some cloud late afternoon / evening. Light west to southwesterly winds. Some morning sun for Canterbury then cloud moves in around midday bringing the chance of a shower. Southwest breezes.
Mostly cloudy along the West Coast, a few showers about Fiordland and also Buller then the may spread elsewhere in the afternoon. Cool southwesterly winds. A few showers about Southland and Otago, clearing in the evening. Overnight expect some rain, more so about Southland, drier for Otago. West to southwesterly winds.
Blue – Heavy form of precipitation or cold temperatures, typically below 1 to 2 degrees celsius.
White – Snow
Purple – Strong winds.
Yellow – Temperatures around the mid 20 degree mark or over.
