InfoGraphic: The Big Picture on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

An anticyclone is centred out to the west of the North Island on Tuesday with a west to southwesterly airflow covering much of New Zealand.

For the whole of the North Island it’s a mainly sunny day, hot temperatures in the east although many especially Northland will see a warm day. Winds in the west a little breezy at times especially about the lower North Island near the coast. Wellington also sees breezy Northerlies.

For the South Island we see hot and sunny weather in the east, a mix of sun and cloud out west. The generally flow over the South Island is more westerly however right about the coastal fringe from Christchurch up through to the likes of Kaikoura an east to northeasterly breeze may keep temperatures a little cooler then just a little further inland. Still a hot day overall.

Temperatures in the east of both Island looking to get into the mid to late 20’s.

Not all regions and towns have been mentioned above. For specific 10 day information for your city, town, rural community or island please see the 1500 forecasts on our homepage!
