A ridge brings mainly settled weather to the South Island on Monday while southwesterlies continue to bring a few showers for the North Island. Around dawn on Tuesday morning a cold change moves into Southland.

A cool south to southwesterly airflow brings a mix of showers and sunny spells over the North Island on Monday, conditions may be a bit cloudier in the east then in the west.

Mainly sunny for the South Island however it will be another frosty start for many especially inland. Some morning cloud breaks away from Canterbury and expect a mix of sun and cloud along the West Coast during the day, winds are mainly light.

Blue – Heavy form of precipitation or cold temperatures, typically below 1 to 2 degrees celsius.
Purple – Strong winds.
Yellow – Temperatures around the mid 20 degree mark or over.
