InfoGraphic: The Big Picture on Friday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

For the most part we are covered in high pressure on Friday however a few weak sneaky areas of low pressure deliver showers for some regions.

For the upper North Island, a mix of sun and cloud with southwesterly winds. Isolated showers in the afternoon for the Bay Of Plenty (mainly inland) across to East Cape may be heavy in a few areas, even the chance of a thunderstorm then clearing at night.

Mainly sunny for the lower North Island in the west, sunny to start in the east then some cloud builds from afternoon with a few showers moving into the Wairarapa then Hawkes Bay in the evening.

The east coast of the South Island is mainly cloudy with showers or perhaps even some rain about Canterbury, easing and clearing in the afternoon although one or two light shower may remain till evening. Southland and Otago have a mix of sun and cloud, the West Coast of the South Island is mainly sunny.

Not all regions and towns have been mentioned above. For specific 10 day information for your city, town, rural community or island please see the 1500 forecasts on our homepage!
