Low pressure sits west of the country today and on Friday directing a northeasterly airflow over New Zealand.

Areas of rain for South Westland today, a little drier further into North Westland however showers move in late afternoon or evening. Drier in the east but some rain about Southland and Otago by midday. Drier the further north you go into Mid / North Canterbury, Marlborough and Nelson.

A shower or two for northeastern parts of the North Island, could be a few spells of rain for some. Dry along the east coast and for southern regions with a mix of sun and cloud.

Areas of rain or showers for western parts of New Zealand on Friday, rain may be heavy along the South Island’s West Coast at times. Generally speaking conditions are drier in the east however a few showers may affect inland areas along the South Islands East Coast.
