Low pressures lies over most of New Zealand today with a low centre moving over the North Island from west to east during the day. A trough moves over the upper North Island overnight bringing some potentially unstable weather. A southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand on Friday.

Wet weather for much of the North Island today, heavy falls possible for the Wairarapa. Rain eases to showers for most this morning then overnight heavy falls move through Auckland northwards with a chance of thunderstorms and hail. Dry weather for the West Coast of the South Island during the day, also many other areas this morning then a few showers move in during the afternoon.

Showers for Southland, along the east coast’s of both Islands and perhaps at times for Auckland and Northland. Mostly sunny conditions for the West Coast of the South Island, Waikato and western Bay Of Plenty.
