InfoGraphic: The Big Picture for Thursday / Friday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

An anticyclone covers most of the country today bringing mainly settled but frosty weather. This high weakens on Friday as a northeasterly airflow develops over New Zealand, meanwhile a low starts to churn away in the Tasman Sea.

Quite settled today although there may be a few areas of coastal cloud at times. A shower or two pushes back onto the North Island’s east coast this afternoon.

Friday is still mainly sunny although some coastal cloud is still possible. Cloud really starts to increase for Northland and the Bay Of Plenty where a light shower or two may move in from afternoon. Canterbury sees the chance of some evening cloud and a light shower or drizzle patch.
