A low sits west of the country on Thursday directing a northeasterly airflow over New Zealand.
Areas of rain for South Westland on Thursday, a little drier further into North Westland however showers move in late afternoon or evening. Drier in the east but a few showers still possible especially about Southland and Otago where some rain develops by midday. Drier the further north you go into Mid / North Canterbury, Marlborough and Nelson.
A shower or two for northeastern parts of the North Island, could be a few spells of rain for some. Dry along the east coast and for southern regions with a mix of sun and cloud.
