Mainly anticyclonic on Saturday bringing mostly settled weather. A front slowly pushes northwards over the South Island on Sunday however it will weaken as it moves northwards, a ridge lies over the North Island.
Warm and sunny for most of the North Island on Saturday. Cloudy areas for Southland / Otago, sun breaks through in the afternoon about Central Otago. The West Coast has some rain for South Westland, sunny spells further north. Any morning cloud from Canterbury up through to Nelson in the east clears otherwise mostly sunny with some high cloud.
Another fairly warm and mostly sunny day for the North Island on Sunday, just expect some high cloud at times. Cloudy for the West Coast of the South Island, some rain about Fiordland spreads northwards during the day but it will weaken, rain only heavy about Fiordland for a time in the morning. A few showers pass through Southland / Otago in the morning, southerlies move into Canterbury early afternoon but cloud doesn’t thicken up till evening.
