InfoGraphic: The Big Picture for Friday / Saturday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

An anticyclone brings mainly settled weather to New Zealand today, a south to southeasterly airflow moving around this high brings some cloud and a few showers to the eastern North Island. Saturday sees settled anticyclonic conditions.

Some cloud for Northland through to the Waikato / Bay Of Plenty today, mostly sunny elsewhere about the western North Island. For the east coast cloudy areas develop this morning with southerly winds, the odd light shower or drizzle patch gradually moves in. The South Island has a mainly sunny day, some morning cloud in the east breaks away near the coast, it may hang around inland areas for much of the day, light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.

A light shower or two may affect Northland on Saturday in the afternoon, also the east coast in the morning then clearing away. Mostly sunny conditions elsewhere. The South Island has a mainly sunny day, some cloud in the west especially about South Westland.
