A low starts to move over the top of New Zealand to the east on Friday with a ridge regaining some dominance over the South and lower North Islands.
A few showers for northeastern parts of the North Island on Friday, a mix of sun and cloud elsewhere with a chance of morning fog for inland areas.
The South Island is fairly sunny however expect a few areas of morning cloud or fog. Cloudy about Fiordland with some drizzle.
