A wide range of conditions existed across New Zealand today.
Everything from clouds and chilly rain to bright sunshine and warming temperatures.
A lot of folks ended up with a day that wasn’t as nice as advertised, especially Auckland. The reason was our high just didn’t build in as expected. Our winds ended up tilting more to the southwest. That kept the clouds rolling into Auckland.
But some areas did end up with lots of sunshine. The sun poked through in the Waikato. Bay of Plenty and Hawkes Bay saw some sun. Lots of sun and warm temperature were found in Nelson and Blenheim.
So tell us what YOUR Sunday was like?

In Devonport we have had a mixture of sunny spells, overcast conditions and wind with some humidity. We didn’t mind the wind though and it made for a pleasant evening walk. Not too hot or cold, just right.

It was cloudy, windy, cold and it was raining now and then. And all the weather people were saying it would be a wonderful day.

Lovely day down here. Bright sunshine above the persistent cloud cover and drizzle ?

Patchy Drizzle in Christchurch today and cool. Not much wind about but certainly different to 27 of yesterday.

Breezy in Invers with a shower late morning and long sunny spells this afternoon with a high of 16.5.
Looks like a strong NW coming for the South Island on Tuesday.

That’s nothing new for Auckland…and even more so this year!! Went out for a Sunday family lunch to the Northcote Tavern…we braved the beergarden for a while, but it was more like wintertime than something we should expect in one of our primo summer months. Just hope winter is going to be a tad kinder to us when she rears her head in the not-too-distant!!!

Hi WW,
Our day here in Whangarei has been miserable grey cloud for most of it, sun did try once to expose itself but lost to the cloud. Certainly not as expected and not beach weather. Just as well I chose to mow the meadow. Good day for that job.
Was expecting the rest of the country to be brilliant but see we are not alone.

Weather at Wayby north of Auckland has been perfect for the painting I’m doing under the eves of the house. Had a s’wester blowing with cloud and only one sqiffy shower of no consequence. Presently 22c and brightening from the west.Wind starting to ease away. Now can get from under the eves to do more of the outer shell.
Cheers Steve
