It may only be short lived but today a high will spread across the country finally easing the wet and windy conditions for most of us.
Just a few showers may linger along the North Island’s eastern coastline between Wairarapa and Gisborne,
The clearing skies means overnight temperatures will drop again.
WeatherWatch.co.nz predicts frosts will creep back in to a number of areas, including across the North Island, possibly as far north as Northland.
The frosts aren’t going to be heavy for most places, except for those inland, higher altitude areas such as Otago, inland Canterbury and Central Plateau.
Warmer north to north west winds will return as the high moves out to the east, starting in the deep south on Wednesday and spreading everywhere on Thursday.
