High finally dominates – The Big Picture on Wednesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A large high pressure system is finally set to dominate our weather on Wednesday, with the one exception of the upper North Island (again).

It will bring light winds to most places, and a mix of sun and cloud.

Dry weather sits under the high pressure, and it will be warmer in Southland, Otago and Canterbury on Wednesday, compared to earlier this week.

Isolated showers still persist in the north (anywhere north of Hamilton and Tauranga) which are caught up in a southeast wind flow – so there’s a risk wet weather in the upper North Island, but compared to recent days – much MUCH drier and a certainly a bit brighter!
